On 29 June 2026, the Constitutional Hall of Spain’s Congress of Deputies hosted the first Spanish-Chinese Legal Cooperation Forum. More than one hundred representatives from the political, judicial, law-enforcement, legal and academic communities of Spain and China gathered in Madrid to discuss immigration law, bilateral legal cooperation, cross-border fraud, hate crime prevention and corporate compliance.
The Chinese Law Association in Spain (ACD Spain) organised the event. The programme included the launch of Manual Práctico de Extranjería: Normas, cambios y oportunidades, a bilingual Chinese-Spanish guide intended as a practical reference for members of the Chinese community, legal professionals and institutions working in the field of migration.
Jinglan Wang (Ana Wang) attended in her capacity as Director of the Youth Section of the Chinese Law Association in Spain (ACD Spain) and moderated the first panel. The session focused on fraud, legal protection for migrants and coordination between law-enforcement bodies and legal professionals. Participants represented the Chinese Embassy in Spain, Spain’s National Police and Civil Guard, academia and Madrid institutions.
An immigration-law guide connecting two legal languages
The guide presented during the forum takes a practical approach to Spain’s immigration framework. It covers topics including residence, family reunification, work authorisations, study stays, long-term residence and nationality procedures.
Its contribution is not limited to collecting legal rules. It also seeks to explain complex concepts in language that both Chinese and Spanish readers can understand.
